Sean Nowland now teaches Chinese kung fu for self defense and physical fitness on Monday evenings from 7:30-830pm

Anyone can do kungfu regardless of age, skill, athletic ability.  These classes are tailored to individual needs.  Safety, comfort level, and enjoyment are paramount. Consult your physician before beginning a new exercise program.

Sean Nowland has been studying martial arts for over 25 years and has been teaching Chinese kung fu and tai chi chuan for 14 years.

He has taught tai chi for Portland Parks and Recreation, taught self defense in Portland Public Schools through the SUN School program and has his own private home studio.

Sean Nowland teaches traditional techniques in a modern way and in a safe, encouraging environment.  He teaches empty hand and weapons forms, self defense, sticking hands, kicks, strikes, blocks, and his specialty chin na joint locking techiniques.  Sean has a strong background in Japanese karate, ju jitsu, and aiki techniqe.
